I’m a traveller looking to travel and get the hell away from my bad dreams. Rumors catch up fast, of this I know. And I don’t plan to be hanged or burned for crimes I didn’t commit. Though lately I’m not sure if I’m innocent. Is it possible that I’m guilty? * As Ophelia moved further and further away from her village, the only home she ever knew, she began to get more and more nervous. She began to think of reasons of why she should go back. Maybe it wasn’t as bad as it had seemed. Maybe her mother was alive. Maybe her sisters were alive. Maybe her brothers were alive. Maybe she had run off for no reason. It was entirely possible that there had been a demon behind her and that they hadn’t meant Ophelia at all!
Ophelia was give or take six days away from her village. She had stamped through the forest which would put her further away from the village had anyone taken the long roads that Ophelia had never been on. Coming closer was a small village. Perhaps they had not heard of the tale of Ophelia, yet. Her stomach was grumbling with hunger. The meager berries were not supporting her. And she would like to quench her thirst on perhaps some apple cider ale.
Against her better judgment Ophelia headed towards town. She had only her one outfit, which wasn’t exactly even hers! Fear derived from her every step as Ophelia neared the town. Dirty children stared at Ophelia. They were probably orphans unlucky to not have a home. This town was a bigger version of Ophelia’s town. From the buildings she could tell what each one was. She was aware of the stares. Strangers passing through her town were rare, and all were stared at.
And now of course she herself was a stranger. The looks Ophelia was given was uncomfortable. But as far as she could tell no one screamed ‘witch’ or ‘demon’ to her face. She headed into the tavern knowing well that it was odd she had not arrived on the main path with a horse. Ophelia supposed she could say that her horse died after being ridden too hard by its previous owner.
As soon as Ophelia entered the tavern all eyes were on her. She moved the hood already on her head more over her face to hide it well. Then she took a seat in the back of the room. Even though Ophelia had a tavern in her home town, two, exactly, she had never been in one except to order cases of wine or cider or beer to her home. ‘I will be brave. This isn’t so hard. I can be brave.’ She thought.
“Some apple cider ale, please.” Ophelia ordered. “And what do you have in the kitchen today?” she asked quite politely. “Some vegetable broth with bread sounds lovely. Yes I will have it. Thank you.”

Eight in the morning. Emilia woke from the sun creeping into her room through her window and right on to her eyes. Before opening her beautiful blue eyes, she stretched her entire body and rubbed the sleepies out of her eyes. Sitting up, her gorgeous brown hair was a mess. Uncovering her self, she got out of overly sized bed and walked in to her overly large bathroom to get ready for the day, and by that I mean have servants brush her beautiful long copper brown hair. She’d be given a nice bubble bath where the servants would wash her hair while she’d soak in the tube. Once the soaking was done, she was dried off and dressed in a light blue dress that reached her knees. The sleeves were snug around her upper arms while the rest down was extremely loose and hung down in a fashionable way. A white corset was placed around her waist and pulled tightly when tied. The corset looked as if there was a blue tree trying to climb up it. Over there she wore a dark cloak with a hood, in which she put the hood up covering her recognizable face and left without a sound.
Today was the Emilia would run away from being queen just for today and pretend to be a commoner. She left the palace and traveled several hours to a distant village in her country. She could a quite village, he was a decent size which made it perfect. Emilia immediately made way to the tavern for a cup of tea. She walked into the tavern and sat down at a table. “I’ll have a cup of tea, please. Preferably green if you have it. If not just give me what your favorite it. ” her soft voice echoed though the tavern as if everyone simultaneously stopped talking just to hear her speak. Her face was hidden so perhaps it was weird to have strangers in this town.
The door opened and closed. All eyes went from Emilia to the new person that walking in, even Emilia’s eyes. The body seemed to be petite from the cloak but then again, cloaks were deceiving. Hell. The Queen of the faerie’s was sitting in this very room and no one suspected a thing about it. Which Emilia enjoyed about this place. It seems slightly homey but also at the same time like a jail. Almost like the palace felt to Emilia. She loved it with her heart, all the memories she had there… even the bad ones. Her eyes began to water slightly at the thought of her mother and sisters being gone… Emilia shook her head to dismiss the thought from her mind. Looking around the tavern her eyes fell on the petite looking girl. Out of the blue, Emilia had the urge to talk to her, perhaps to ease the stress level in the room. Pushing her chair out and lifting her self up to walk over to the girl, walking in between tables and such. Before a riving at the table. She didn’t ask to sit down she just did..
“ You are quite young looking to be in a tavern. No wonder you received quite the amount of stares. From the look at you while you wearing that cloak, your body frame seems petite. But, That cloak does look excellent on your I might add.” Emilia’s soft voice spoke only loud enough for the girl to hear it. Her eye’s scanning the girl to see if she could see her face but her hood was too low over her eyes. Emilia took in careful observation that perhaps this girl didn’t want to talk to her, but that didn’t bother her. Emilia was going to talk and talk all she wanted. She didn’t need a respond if the girl didn’t want to give her one. “ Should I assume you’re not from around here either? Well, if you were you’d probably sit closer to the people of this town” she spoke again before smiling softly. “ Did you see the sky today? I think we’ll have storms tonight, sever storms…” Emilia pouted slightly, she hated being basically home a lone in the large palace with out her brothers or father home to reassure the storm was nothing to worry about.
There was a long pause. Not an awkward pause just a pause. “ Pardon me for asking… but do you have parent? Like a family? I ask because I’m 18 and I still live with mine… I mean.. my father.” the tone in her voice dropped from cheerful and happy to sad in a matter of seconds. Her thought’s traveled to her Mother and sisters… her eye’s started to become watery, she shook her head remembering they were in a better place now. “ Well, technically, he lives with me.” she said with a bit of a laugh. “ Well if you don’t, you are welcome to stay with me for a bit. My bothers and father are away for a bit so I thought I’d offer you. By the looks of your cloak, you’ve either had a rough day or you’ve been walking quite a lot… I could buy you some new cloths if you’d like. I don’t mind.” Emilia took a immediately likening to this girl, even though she hadn’t gotten much of replies so far but that’s probably Emilia’s fault for talking so much. “Pardon my rudness! My name is Emilia.”
Finally, Emilia’s tea arrived. Emilia removed her hood and lifted the tea up to her mouth taking a nice sip. Green, her favorite tea. excellent she thought as she took another sip. Enjoying her tea suddenly a child ran smack right in to her chair. spilling her hot tea all over her cloak. Thankfully, it didn’t go any farther into the clothing then just her cloak. Emilia looked down at her empty cup and frowned. ” I am SO SORRY!” pleaded the woman and she hid her child behind her. The mother apologized as if it was the end of the world. Emilia laughed slightly and reached out to touch the mother’s shoulder. “ don’t worry about it. Kid’s will be Kid’s I’m sure it was an accident. No harm was done.” she said as she smiled. The child came out from behind the mother and looked at Emilia. Emilia patted on his head. The mother and child walked away after that. Emilia’s attention turned back to the girl across the table from her and smiled softly as if nothing happened.

Though lately I’m not sure if I’m innocent. Is it possible that I’m guilty? * Ophelia remained silent as the stranger sat across from her in the table. It was quite rude actually but Ophelia said nothing. To be honest, it was good to have some company. Even if the person loved to talk. Ophelia was quite a gossip herself but she had things on her mind. Ophelia made sure the hood on her cloak covered her face. If it hadn’t been obvious to the girl that Ophelia wanted to remain a secret it sure was now. “You would not be wrong if you assumed that I was not from this village.”
“Did you see the sky today? I think we’ll have storms tonight, severe storms…”
“No I haven’t. I hope the storms don’t last for long.” Ophelia hadn’t spent much time looking up at the sky. She had been much too worried looking at the forest. The trees were so thick one could barely see the sky let alone any storm clouds. This was just perfect! Ophelia was travelling without a horse, without a tent or any other things. If the room was cheap she could spend the night, however she would be absolutely terrified that something bad would happen.
“Pardon me for asking… but do you have parent? Like a family? I ask because I’m 18 and I still live with mine… I mean... my father.”
Now was either the time for truth or for lies. Ophelia would choose lies. “I live with my mother and my father, and my six older brothers. I’m the only girl. Though I’m heading to live with my aunt and uncle.” The red headed girl lied like a pro. Her mother, her brothers, and her sisters were dead. The only one alive was her father and he probably wanted her dead. No, he did want her dead. Unless there really had been a demon / witch behind her when the villagers started charging…
“Well if you don’t, you are welcome to stay with me for a bit. My brothers and father are away for a bit so I thought I’d offer you. By the looks of your cloak, you’ve either had a rough day or you’ve been walking quite a lot… I could buy you some new cloths if you’d like. I don’t mind.”
Ophelia took a sip of her cider. It was strong! “I think I’ll take you up on both of your offers.” She laughed. “I don’t think my aunt and uncle will be expecting me for some time.” Of course it was a lie that wasn’t well thought out. Ophelia could use a place to stay. It wasn’t as if the money she found in her cloak would last for long. And Ophelia could use some clothes. It was what she had always wanted. Just how wealthy was this woman? And why was she traveling alone?
“Pardon my rudeness! My name is Emilia.”
“I’m Ophelia.” Her vegetable broth and bread were brought to her and placed on the table. Emilia was just drinking tea, something she never quite understood. Why did some people like to drink hot water? Suddenly a child smacked into Emilia’s chair. Some people needed to contain their little brats better! And then a woman came trailing after soon enough, apologizing. “Your cloak is ruined!” Of course a little tea to Emilia’s cloak was nothing compared to the brush Ophelia’s own had been put to.
“What brings you here? And traveling alone?” Ophelia knocked the bread against the table. Since no bugs came out of it she dipped it in the broth and took a large bite. The broth was decent and Ophelia spooned it in her mouth. Her stomach was slowly being soothed with each mouthful.

Emilia smiled brightly, it had been so long since she had made a friend that wasn’t a lord or lady. She also got bored with spoiling herself with things she already had, such as clothing. She didn’t mind spending her money on others, there was quite a lot of it after all. “Oh excellent! You can use the guest room… it’s a decent size… but I’m sure you’ll like it just fine.” she smiled. It didn’t even cross her mind that the guest room was the size of two or three apartments put together while her room was the size of a medium sized house. “Or you could use my late sister’s room, you can pick when you get there.” she smiled. That room wasn’t used for anything… of course Emilia would offer Marcia’s room but that’s the room her mother and sister Marcia were violently murdered and her other sister Cyhiraeth was taken from. The room was still splattered with her mother and sister’s blood, unable to get the stains out… so the room was locked never to be opened, forever frozen in time.
“What a pretty name you have there!” she said. Ophelia was a pretty name indeed; Emilia liked it almost as much as she liked her own name. Emilia loved her name with a passion, it was so pretty and easy to pronounce as she thought. Emilia looked down at her cloak to see a stain of her tea, but she simply shrugged. “ It’s just a cloak… I have plenty more at home…” she stated as she looked more at the stain. It was true, this was Emilia’s least favorite cloak she so was slightly glad that it had gotten ruined, it was quite old, her father’s mother had given it to her… it was itchy and heavy and she didn’t enjoy wearing it… thankfully her grandmother had gotten better at making cloaks that she could easily make one that Emilia would enjoy.
“ Me? Well you know, I wanted to get away from my job, which explains why I’m alone. Everyone needs a break every once in a while… and most jobs have planned breaks but not mine, I work twenty-four hours a day, every day. For the rest of my life… it isn’t exactly a job I can quit… but I actually really love my job… there’s just a lot of paperwork involved, I’ve been doing it for about… she paused and looked up, doing mental math. “About 183 years I believe… I started right after the tragic murder of my mother and sisters.” she frowned slightly but remembered she slaughtered the demons that did so. She grouped her sister Cyhiraeth with being murdered because she’s been missing for 183 years and there’s no trace of her. She is to be presumed dead. Emilia shook her head to dismiss the thoughts how most of the females in her family are gone. “What has brought you here? I mean besides going to live with your aunt and uncle, any reason why you stopped at this place?” she was curious. Emilia took a good amount of coins on the table. “Get what you like, it’s my treat.” she stated with a smile.

Or you could use my late sister’s room, you can pick when you get there.”
Ophelia smiled as she sipped her broth. She was trying to imagine the types of rooms Emilia had in her home. Ophelia had never been in such a big home, but she imagined Emilia having a giant sized one with giant sized rooms. “I’m sure the guest room will be adequate!” Ophelia enjoyed the broth as it filled up her stomach with the bread. What she really could use though, was some fine wine. It was expensive enough that Ophelia had only ever gotten a teaspoon full.
“What a pretty name you have there! It’s just a cloak… I have plenty more at home…” “Thank you. I love my name.” Ophelia smiled sweetly. She then decided to compliment Emilia. “I love your name also. It seems sort of familiar.” You seem sort of familiar, Ophelia thought. She pushed the thoughts in her mind away and moved on towards the cloaks. “You’re lucky. I lost all my things due to … bandwagon robbers.” That seemed to make a bit of sense. “I used to have cloaks in every color, now I just have this tattered pink one.” Alright, so Ophelia was trying to get some cloaks out of this woman.
“Me? Well you know, I wanted to get away from my job, which explains why I’m alone. Everyone needs a break every once in a while… and most jobs have planned breaks but not mine, I work twenty-four hours a day, every day. “One hundred and eighty three years?” Ophelia gasped, shocked. She was surprised that someone, anyone, could live that long! “W…what are you?” she asked. Ophelia had never seen an immortal before. Ophelia had never met someone that wasn’t human before. Ophelia had heard of demons but they were deformed, ugly, black, hideous and evil. Vampires were blood suckers and sucked blood. They were also ugly, evil and deformed. Ophelia didn’t know what Emilia was. But if she was going to buy her things, then she really didn’t care.
“What has brought you here? I mean besides going to live with your aunt and uncle, any reason why you stopped at this place?” she was curious. Emilia took a good amount of coins on the table. “Get what you like, it’s my treat.” she stated with a smile.
“Oh nothing really. I thought perhaps I would find an inn to sleep in. I’m a bit weary from my travels.” Lying was getting slightly hard…. Ophelia’s eyes tried to not go wide at the amount of money placed on the table. She smiled as she raised her hand for the waitress. “Bring us a bottle of your finest wine and some sweet bread and apple pie, or chocolate if you have it.”
“I mean really, there’s no specific reason for me to be here. Though I guess it’s the closet village? Though I don’t really have a map or anything. It beats camping out in the jungle and getting rained on.” Ophelia watched as the waitress brought the bottle of wine with two glasses and poured it into the cups. Then the waitress went back and brought out the sweat bread and apple pie. Ophelia was in heaven!

spring to l i f e Emilia gasped at the thought of such a sweet girl being caught in the middle of a bandwagon robbery. Those are always traumatizing, once Emilia and her family were almost in one until the guards intervened and actually did their jobs. thankfully no one was lost except the lives of the robbers. " you poor thing! After lunch I'll be happy to help you with you're collection again!" Emilia looked suddenly at her.
Emilia tiled her head at Ophelia when she questioned her aged and looked even more concerned when she asked what Emilia was. Emilia brushed her pretty brown hair behind her right ear and laughed lightly, realizing Ophelia must be human. " Dear, You're in fae country you know that right?"
She nodded as she listen to Ophelia's words and smiled when the waitress came over, Ophelia ordered somethings. " And I'll have a sandwich please oh! and some chocolates if you didn't mind, It's my treat" she said smiling at the waitress. The girl nodded as she wrote down the order on a pad of paper before strolling off towards Emilia's guess was the kitchen.
"That is very understandable, I wouldn't want to camp out there as well." she laughed softly at her joke. Like the queen of fae would ever have to camp outside. the waitress came back with the wine and two glasses. The waitress started to pour the wine in to the glasses before leaving and returning with the sweet bread and apple pie for Ophelia. she left again and returned with Emilia's sandwich, as well as the chocolate she ordered.
" I have some cloaks at home if you'd like, they've never been worn and you can just have them, I certainly don't wear them. " Emilia stated before she took a bite of her sandwich. it was delicious! after that bite she took a sip of the wine and frowned. "The wine at home is much better words: pff idk. tags: Ophelia. muse: none -.-***. notes: it sucks i know. over the e d g e @ caution 2.0
