Arioch yawns as the demons recover themselves, hurling death into the air. More and more demons were pouring through the gateway that had been opened in his room, and he could feel the demonic essence from his home land fueling his body and power. He smiles as he swings his sword before him in a viciously aggressive motion, a wave of force that cut the building like a blade lashed out, hurling the demons charging him back into the hotel. He smiles coldly as he stares down into the throng of demons flooding through the hotel now, all preparing their own massive spells to hurl at the greatest nightmare to ever walk their lands.
"On your knees, I want you to beg for forgiveness." he says with a cold half smile, before he raises his hand before him, fingers cupped together, thumb touching his middle finger and his index running alongside it. His fingers snap once, and suddenly the world was lit by a second sun. The building was engulfed in fire blazing higher than seemed possible, the material quickly blackening as the people and demons trapped inside screamed in terror and pain. With a wave of his hand, the surrounding buildings as well lit up in flames, ensuring that no more demons would be laying in wait for him. The screams of the helpless and dieing rose up and Arioch loved it!
The sounds of agony, the wails of the dieing, the clashing of bone and sinew! Oh how he had missed his glorious and powerful form! To be free and unrestrained, to kill wherever and whomever he wished! Oh it was glorious indeed! Let the world tremble, for Arioch had come! A small voice however whispered softly inside his head. "No." It was simple, but held a tone of absolute authority. Arioch snarled, enraged that a lowly human would seek to command him! Him! Arioch, Lord of the Seven Darks, the greatest lord of hell! What foolish human would dare trifle with so mighty a being such as he!
Deep within their souls, Linx awoke with a fire inside him. Nat was trapped in that building, she was in danger! She was close to being reduced to nothing but ash and he would not let that happen! 'ARIOCH! By the ancient ties of thy spell! I command thee sleep! Return to the depths of my soul whence you came till you are bidden come forth once more!' Linx roared in their head, while Arioch raged in hatred. He knew that he was caught by the magic, and could even now feel it's hold wrapping around his soul, dragging him down into slumber. He rages as their form melts back to Linx's body he plummets from the sky, creating his own impact crater as he uses the force to launch himself forward in a roll, sprinting into the burning building. Despite his control of fire and the eldritch forces of creation, he was nowhere near powerful enough to counteract these flames, only shield himself from their heat.
A quick spell showed him Nats location, and he decided to launch himself up through the ceiling, finding it much quicker than running back and forth. He smashes through the fire door onto the landing where Nat had collapsed, and he gently lifts her in his arms. He abates the flames around them, holding her tightly against him as he hurled himself through the outter wall, rolling through the air as so his shoulders hit the ground first, jarring him painfully as he finishes his roll and came up into a run, Nat clutched tightly against him. In little to no time, they were half way across town, hidden in a deserted building, abandoned after the war.
He rests her against him, arms wrapped around her as he cleans and binds her wounds, ensuring that she wouldn't bleed out. He sighs as he reclines against the wall, holding her against him still, his own shirt torn into strips to act as her bandages. Most his belongings had been burned in the hotel, so he'd had little choice. His heads droops into a light nap, resting gently against his chest as his heart beat steadily, his body warm despite the chill night air coming on. His breathing grew deep and even as he snoozed, worn out by the days trials.

. reluctantly she slipped out of his arms, she honestly didn't want to get up. maybe she would get food or something. as she got up she felt a twinge on her side and saw that he had wrapped up her wound. god now she felt even worse. she tried to kill him and he had helped her so much. guilt seemed to seep deep within her as she looked him over. his clothes were a complete wreck as were hers. looking back at him once more, she made her decision. he was out cold and she would go and buy them some clothing. thankfully she had her wallet on her otherwise she would be screwed. keeping as quiet as she can, the female slipped out of the abandoned warehouse. she hadn't left him a note but she wouldn't be gone that long. after a few minutes hike, she found a small village. as she browsed the streets, nat glanced up and saw smoking coming from the direction of the hotel. oh god. it hadn't been a dream.
. feeling a little sick, she picked out a few shirts for him and a few things for herself. one of the merchants was persistent on selling her some food, complaining about how she looked like she hadn't eaten in a while. so she gave in and bought a few local things. food and a couple items of jewelry. ok so she liked to get jewelery when she had the chance. big deal. the female also picked a few things of bandages and gauze to tend to their wounds better. when she was all done, the female headed back to the abandoned building. hopefully he hadn't woken up yet and freaked out that she was gone. trying to keep quite, she placed the clothes next to him and grabbed what she bought for herself. the female moved a little ways off and changed out of her torn and bloody clothing. she also re-wrapped her wound, not because she didn't like that he had done it for her, but because she wanted it actually cleaned and bandaged. she didn't heal quickly like most half demons.
. nat got dressed in the short jean shorts she bought along with a tang top. what the fuck? why was it so small? she tried to pull the shirt down but her midriff kept showing. "ah fuck it." annoyed she gave up, and went back to her stash of stuff. she gave linx a look over and blushed. she kind of wanted to slip back into his arms and pretend she had never left but he'd probably wake up. so instead she settled for sitting in front of him and nibbling on the food she had gotten. he really was cute when he slept.

Deep within slumber lurked the things of nightmares. For even in sleep, Linx could not escape battle. His mind was a war torn world, ravaged by time and the atrocities he'd seen and his body had committed. This time, while the sounds of battle still waged around him, he sat across from a crimson eyed duplicate of himself, Arioch. "We need to speak." he said before pausing and giving Linx an appraising look. "You look like hell." he says, stifling a laugh as Linx sank into the seat opposite him. His shirt was gone, his bare chest revealing many life time's worth of stories. Countless scars littered him, and new cuts were there, along with burns, abrasions and gashes. The burns were mostly self inflicted as his mind had taken control instinctively to cauterize any wounds he received, but many weren't his as well. His pants had been torn and were as haggard as the rest of him, his boots about the only thing that survived. His harness for his weapons lay secured over his bare chest in his mind, but in truth lay next to him within easy reach.
His hair was disheveled and his eyes weary with fatigue, though his face held steely determination. "You killed those people Arioch, what is there to discuss?" he asks coldly. Fury radiated off him in waves, and Arioch shook his head. "While this is true, I'll not defend or justify my actions. At my core, I remain a demon. Bound within you, your personality affects and is reflected in me. However, this is not what I wished to discuss. It's about my past, and how I came to reside within you." he says, before rolling into his story immediately as a flash of intrigue stole across the face of his host.
Little time passed in the waking world, and shortly Linx awoke, keeping his eyes closed and breathing deep and even. It was an old habit that he used to check for others around him when he awoke, while they still thought he slept. However, only one other person was around him, and he allowed his eyes to open, rising up to meet Nats eyes. She had changed, and it looked as if she'd changed her bandages. His eyes had a fleeting, haunted look to them, before returning to being his usual mask. "Are you alright?" he asks softly, ignoring his own need to care for his wounds in favour of his companion. He never cared for himself when someone else needed him, and now was no exception. His body was still strong and resilient, so he wasn't concerned about himself.

"it was ripped anyways." she muttered softly as she made sure each wound was taken care of before she grabbed his clothes and handed them to him. "yeah I'm fine and I'm sorry." nat muttered sitting back and looking him over. everything was taken care so she felt a little better, but the guilt was still eating at her. looking down again, she ran a hand through her hair.
. "look I'm sorry about earlier. I didn't mean to overreact. I hunt demons and the demon blood within me naturally reacts and I can't help it. it's not til later that I realize what I've done and I'm really sorry." she looked down as she spoke unable to really look him in the face. she really felt bad about almost killing him because he was a nice guy and he had his own problems to deal with and some psycho chick trying to kill him wasn't going to help. "I'm really sorry and I tried to pay off your room but I guess that doesn't matter now." she muttered the last part laughing it off slightly. nat finally looked up at him and smiled softly. "I um got some food and clothes for you so you didn't have to worry about it. you were sleeping and I didn't want to wake you." getting up, nat grabbed the food and brought it over so he could have some. maybe he wasn't hungry, but she was starving when she woke up.
. "so um what happened back there? all I remember seeing is demons and I flipped shit, but then I got scared. really scared. like something terrifying was going to happen." she trailed off looking out the window before directing her attention back to linx. the was a moment where she wondered if she should tell him what she was or not. would he laugh? would he try to kill her? would he not want to talk to her? god she sounded like a high school girl with a crush. it's not like she liked him or anything. did she? nat glanced over at him again and the same deep blush appeared across her face and she quickly looked away. fuck. chewing on her lower lip she just waited for his response. god she needed to learn how to shut up sometimes. poor guy. nat played with the ends of her hair leaning against the wall.

He remained silent, eyes closed once more as she insists on helping him bandage his wounds. Eventually she seemed to run out of steam and fell silent as well, and he rested a few moments longer before answering her. "I'm glad you're alright, and don't worry about attacking me. I'm used to it. However, I am no demon. I'm human, just a plain old human." he says with a tired smile. He takes one of the t-shirts she'd picked up and slips it over his head. It was a little snug, and he felt like it would be cutting off circulation, he he ignored it, tucking it into his belt. He raises himself to his feet to stretch, sore and exhausted from the ordeal at the hotel. "Some vacation huh? I guess we know how to show a woman a good time." he mutters to himself before shaking his head clear.
He sighs as he turns to look back at her. "While I'm human, I've got a demons soul within me. His name is Arioch, and he's usually a decent enough guy." he says with a shrug. "It's useful because most supernatural entities don't register me as a threat, but I've got access to all his abilities and power, and only when we work together do we shift into something...more. Not really demonic, but not human. I don't know what it is really. However..." he pauses as his face becomes pained, clutching a hand to his side. "Ahh, cracked rib." he mutters before taking a steadying breath to continue. It was exhausting talking so much. Being a quiet blacksmith was much easier.
"However, it seems certain situations can allow Arioch to be free and unbound. That's what happened at the hotel. Arioch, the Lord of Seven Darks, is one of the greatest lords of hell. Or, was, rather. He was usurped from his position, and other demons see him as a threat. By accessing his power at the bar, it radiated his own unique...aura signal, I guess you could call it. The demons looking for him honed in and attacked us at the hotel. He took over completely." he pauses as his eyes slide shut, pain dripping in his words now, "We were the only survivors." he says softly.
"The hotel and the surrounding area was reduced to rubble and ash. I went back inside to help who I could, but you were the only one I could save." he says as he sinks back to the floor, slumping over as weariness engulfed him. He leaned back, resting his head against the wall there to stare up at the stars appearing in the sky. "Sorry, I'm exhausted from using so much magic and power. It takes it's toll on the body. I haven't ever used that much." he says as his head droops and eyes flutter closed. He was so damned tired. Not just from the power, but from his inability, despite all his strength, skill and knowledge, to help anyone. It was a burden on his soul, and it grew heavier every day. Slowly he drifted off again, eyes partially open but clouded with pain and memories.

"what do you mean we were the only survivors! how could no one else make it out of the building?!? are you telling me that you have a blood thirsty demon inside of you and-" nat stopped herself and took a deep breath. she shouldn't yell at him about something he didn't exactly plan on having. taking a deep breath, nat ran a hand through her hair. "I'm sorry Linx I didn't mean to yell."
. nat took a slow deep breath and leaned against the wall. her stomach knotted at the thought of everyone dying. what a burden this was to bare. how could he do it? everyday knowing that his demon can cause so much chaos. she wanted to yell at arioch. she wanted to scream at him. she never got along with demons. ever. " so you have a demon stuck inside you and I'm a half demon. don't we make a wonderful pair." nat laughed bitterly as she went and sat down in front of him. she could see the exhaustion across his face and decided he should rest up. "you've been through a lot rest up I'll keep watch. and when you wake up I don't know but we can do something." she muttered softly unwrapping her palm. the blood oozed from the wound and she went around setting up a series of traps. not like the kind that would cause harm to anyone, but to let her know that people had entered. not that they would but she is very cautious.
. by the time she was done and got back to their little area linx was completely out. guess he was wiped out. she'd let him sleep because he needed it. perhaps he would be better after words. nat settled down next to him and yawned. guess she was still really tired after all. she wrapped up her palm again to try and stop the bleeding but it would never stop. it was a wound she had opened herself and for some reason those always took so long to heal. what would she do now? could she just leave him and go back to her everyday life? her vacation was pretty much over. the hotel and the surrounding area was destroyed. those people. her heart sunk and she pulled her knees up to her chest. no. there was no way she would think about that. yawning again nat leaned up against linx and rested her head on his shoulder. hopefully he wouldn't mind she did that. blushing slightly, she closed her eyes and fell asleep. so much for keeping watch.

For what seemed an eternity, Linx slept. Arioch kept his dreams at bay this time, allowing the blackness of true sleep overtake him. When he finally awoke, night was falling outside, and he gently rose, carefully lowering Nat to the ground to not disturb her. He stretches himself out fully, rolling his head to pop his neck as he did the same with his knuckles. He allows a light yawn to escape him as he stretches, feeling extremely refreshed. A full twenty four hours of dreamless sleep it seemed did wonders for a guy. He smiles lightly as he continues stretching ending in just a few moments time, looking back towards Nat. She lay on the floor as she was, and he couldn't help but watch her for a few moments.
He moves to sit beside her, lightly brushing a strand of hair from her face as she slept. They'd been through a lot in the short time they'd known each other, and he felt something for her. He smiles lightly as he rests his hand on her forehead. He had to leave, he knew that, but it made him sad. She was truly something else, and he was going to miss her. However, it was best for everyone that he return to his home, away from innocent bystanders. He regretted it, of course, but it had to be done. "I'm sorry, but I have to leave." he whispers softly, not wanting to awaken her and have to deal with an argument.
He leans over her lightly, gently placing a kiss on her lips before he stands up. "Thank you Nat, for giving me renewed reason and determination to fight. I'll never forget you, or what you've done for me." he says with a bitter smile as he slips his weapons rig onto his chest. He quickly secures it and moves for the exit, pausing one last time at the door. He didn't want to leave her, not like this, but it had to be done. He takes a steeling breath and steps out, putting the rising sun at his back and setting out for home, to return to the only life he was good for, for the good of every person living on the planet. It was time to disappear once more.
