. there was a whole table full of masks for the guests. hopefully they all received their invitations and knew to dress in a costume. the vampire grinned placing the mask partially on. the maids and butlers were hurrying around to place the food and drinks around for everyone to get. this party was going to be a great one. there would be no fighting, that he would be sure of. because while he wouldn't be attending the party he would be floating around and making sure things were in working order. dancing around and tweaking things here and there, the vampire lord grinned as he passed a couple maids. everyone was getting excited for this and not just him. grinning like a mad man, he danced into the kitchen to check up on the meals. the chefs were hard at work and were creating all kinds of spooky things to eat. "looking good guys. this party will be great." he winked to the chefs as he wandered around some more.
. after making his rounds, the lord stepped outside the house. the long driveway was well lit in the evening. orange and black lights hung in the trees and there were high quality set ups along the road that would scare the pants off of anyone. he was really over doing it but this was going to be the best damn masquerade of the year! "fuck yeah this is going to be awesome!" the vampire shouted to the sky. grinning, he pulled his mask over his face and headed back to the tower mansion before him. it was quite a beautiful place and dimitri had said that it was a very old building. a couple had built it way back when before the two of them were even born. the vampire kicked open the door. "alright ladies and gentlemen let's get this place ready for a party!" he grinned showing fangs as his eyes glinted mischievously.

When West had opened his invitation, he had been working -- or, at least that's what he was prepared to tell anyone who asked. What he had really been doing involved a game that was somewhere between never-have-I-ever, truth or dare, and strip poker. He hadn't been playing at first, just watching, and was actually keeping an eye on one of the party-goers who was supposedly very free with information when she was sufficiently drunk. The only problem was that, in order to blend in, he had to do what everyone else was doing, and everyone else was very intent on getting him into the game.
The human liked to tell everyone that his work was very difficult. And it was. It was difficult, as West would tell anyone who asked, to try and beat a heavyweight at a drinking game while still trying to stay sober enough to get the job done.
Long story short, he hadn't been at his best when he got back to his temporary home and found the invitation there. It hadn't occurred to him then or now to wonder how it got there; what had occurred to him was how completely unlikely it was that he, West, the ridiculous human who ran around Europe making trouble, was invited to a masquerade at Dimitri's mansion in England. All the way there he had been telling himself over and over that it was a joke. Only now that he was standing in front of the door at the prescribed time was he beginning to think that it was real.
Reaching up, West rang the doorbell a little hesitantly. He was precisely on time, not a minute earlier or later, which was actually kind of a feat for him. Usually he was late to everything. Shifting his weight and adjusting his costume to perfection, the human cracked a sly grin. He looked, in his opinion, absolutely fantastic.
He had never realized how much fun dressing up could be until a few days ago. Of course, West wasn't in a position financially to make an elaborate costume, but what he had been able to was exchange his services for a cosplay that his client's daughter had made. He figured it was worth it to look good for the only party he'd ever be invited to at the vampire lord of Germany's mansion.
West was going as N -- some 'trainer' from a show called 'Pokemon' that had apparently been popular before the war. Apparently some people still liked it. He hadn't seen any of the movies or games, just a few episodes that the daughter had showed him to let him get to know the character. Wearing a black turtleneck with a collared white shirt on top, khaki pants, and a black and white baseball cape pulled low over his eyes, he fit the part well. He had his own mask, too: it was white and expressionless, covering the top half of his face.
If he had been making the costume himself, he would have stopped there, with the clothes and the hat and the mask. However, the girl -- who had taken a liking to him -- was insistent that he go along with the rest, too. The rest consisted of quite a few pieces: a few gold square bracelets that went over a black skintight wristband; a thick black watch that seemed to have a matching black wristband sewn in; a medium cube that hung from his belt on a thin chain; a necklace with a pendant in the shape of Saturn; a thin black belt with a silver buckle, attached to which were six white and red 'Pokeballs'.
He fit the bill perfectly. Even with most of his face covered -- it was a masquerade, after all -- it was still fairly easy to recognize who it was, assuming you had met him before. West looked down at the package in his hands -- he had to bring a gift, too, since it was impolite to show up at a party without a gift -- the only problem had been to find something decent for a vampire lord who had everything -- but then looked up again sharply as the door was opened for him. Stepping inside, he looked around with wonder: Dimitri had outdone himself. Everything was positively amazing. Looking around for the vampire lord, West stepped slowly into the mansion, not really knowing where to go, since he didn't see anyone he knew yet. Again, it occurred to West that Dimtri had everything; in comparison his present seemed silly. It was a unique tea mix that he had charmed the woman at the tea shop where they had first met into making, so it was at least completely original.

The demon walked down the sidewalk glancing at the scenery here and there. A lot of people were out trick or treating tonight it seemed. It was the best night of the year though. When everyone could be anything they wanted to be without anyone giving them funny looks. But Credo could do that already. Minus the funny looks. Since he had the godly ability to copy everything there is about someone's appearance. But he wasn't one to brag about that sort of thing to anyone. He always kept it to himself.
He entered a fenced off area that resembled much like the beginning of a park. The fall leaves littered the cobble path, creating a loud rustle-crackling noise under his sneakers. Not to mention it was unbelievably cold tonight. Something Credo wasn't a fan of. But he was always the one to exaggerate temperatures and complain constantly. Walking alone, he had no one to complain to but himself. Which wasn't in the least bit satisfying contrary to complaining to an actual person.
Tonight, for Halloween, Credo chose to be Red. A mysterious Pokemon Trainer that never spoke. Credo always enjoyed the series before the war came along. When it was totally normal to sit around on your ass watching cartoons every Saturday morning. Now, no one hardly ever had the time to do that what with all the fighting going on. It spread everywhere, it affected everything and everyone. Even the places untouched by the warring were affected in more ways than one whether they realized it or not.
'Red' sported a red jacket, a black t-shirt underneath, and fitting blue jeans. Plus his unmistakable red hat that acted as his trade mark in the games. Credo had run across this cosplay set in a small thrift store somewhere in France, where he had spent most of his time in Europe recently. He fit the appearance of Red perfectly. His hair was a little longer and his eyes were not the same color, but he fit nonetheless. He even had pokeballs latched onto his belt to match the poketheme.
Soon he arrived at the large mansion. He spied a figure at the door. That trademark green hair. West. It was becoming a habit of the two running into each other so much it didn't surprise him to see West here. The fact that he came dressed as the character N from the Pokemon series made him smile a toothy smile. He ran up the stairs and jolted into West playfully.
"Are you following me?" Credo said sarcastically, smiling his goofy smile at West. Notes: Oh you. Tagged: Wessst and Everyone else! Credit: TAPER JEAN GIRL ! z10.invisionfree.com/CAUTIONTOTHEWIND/index.php?showuser=17680

Ken was feeling a bit uneasy as he walked the streets on Halloween night, though it was not fear of ghouls or ghosts that fueled his apprehension. That would be nothing less than preposterous; he faced down such creatures on a daily basis- fearing them would be more than a little counter productive to his line of work. Rather, it was the fact that he explicitly would not be engaging any Vampires, Demons, or miscellaneous lurkers of the night that made Ken so jittery. He lived in a world ravaged by war and he was taking time off to go to a party that he really had no business being invited to in the first place. The situation itself was a bit suspect, once Ken took the time to think about it. Surely, he had made a name for himself as a force of good in the post-apocalyptic world, but Ken had absolutely no business being known by the upper echelons of society. Despite these misgivings, however, Ken couldn't bring himself to turn down the invitation or not show up. Holidays were reminders that civilization was still in-tact, which is a fact that Ken repeatedly used to rationalize his behavior. This did not mean that he wasn't feeling exceedingly guilty about "shirking his training"; three hours at a party was three hours that could be spent punching trees in the mountains or something like that.
He gave a nervous tug at his brown tweed jacket as he power walked down the sidewalk at a quick pace, paying close attention to every single leaf that fell around him. In reality, Ken looked more energetic and quirky than outright nervous, though this was very much normal behavior for him when he became anxious. Somehow, he reasoned that, by walking to the party faster, he would then be able to leave faster as well and get back to what really mattered. I'll just get in and out. Good. Then I can train or look for evil Vamps or whatever it is I do. Ken thought, giving himself a swift nod of affirmation. Taking in a deep breath of the crisp, fall air, he managed a bright grin and a slightly more confident stride. Still, Ken gave an air of utter dorkiness. It gave him great joy to see others enjoying Halloween, and he'd be lying if he said that he wasn't looking forward to an opportunity to relax. However, who could say how many were in need of heroic intervention on such a night?
Probably lots.
If anything, the small silver lining to Ken's excessive energy was that it helped him to get "in-character", albeit unintentionally. As a level-headed vigilante, Ken worked very hard to suppress his geeky disposition, but on Halloween, it became just about impossible. Even with his tremendous willpower, Ken could not possibly pass up the chance to dress up as The Doctor. Moreover, he really lucked out by choosing the Eleventh, as his mannerisms certainly looked genuinely strange that night. Besides, fezzes were, in his opinion, cool, as were bow ties, and his choice in costume gave him an opportunity to wear both. It was also a remarkably cheap costume, which prevented further wasting of his hard-earned money. He was a fair bit more muscular than The Doctor's various incarnations, and his hair was significantly more blue, but Ken at least played the part well- again, purely by coincidence.
It wasn't long before "The Eleventh Doctor" came to a rather large, thoroughly impressive mansion that seemed almost fit for a king or at least some type of nobility. Truthfully, Ken had not actually checked to see who was hosting the party, which he perhaps should have. His first instinct was figuring out how to relax without wasting too much time doing something that wasn't fighting evil. Two other figures made their way into the party just a few meters ahead of him, and though they looked somewhat familiar, he couldn't quite tell who they were through the costumes and at such a late hour. "I'm sure I'll be back to combating the forces of darkness before the night is over." Ken spoke aloud to himself as he approached the mansion. "Besides, if I rest up, I'll be better off if I get in a fight later." He reasoned as he stepped inside and jaunted up the stairs.

Rare was it that mail reached her hands anymore - rarer still that someone would take the time to write it in quill and ink, rather than through electronic means. Everything looked good until the moment she opened it. Silver eyes peered down in mild disbelief of what she saw. A masquerade. Alice sighed, shaking her head slightly and trying in vain to suppress the small smile spreading across her face. Dimitri was to be holding the party of all parties in England, it seemed. A twinge of duty struck Alice in that moment (the cause her shaking her head), in which she could not understand why his priorities seemed to dwell upon a party, of all things, in this time of a new Cold War (Vampires weren't known for prioritizing war above all others like Alice was...). But as quickly as it arose, it subsided, as she too had a soft spot for a good social do, more importantly a chance to show off. To converse with her people. And of course, inspect those that dwelt within the remnants of England; an island now known for harboring newborns, and those that cast aside Alice's reign.
And so Alice saw to the production of her masquerade costume (as if anyone wouldn't know who she was anyways) from the moment she had opened the letter; that of a popular, attractive video game character of old, one that she was told she resembled greatly when her hair was dyed black. The costume demanded a heavy, silky dress, black, lined with fur. Intricate jewelry was scrounged up where it could be found, eventually crafted into designs matching those that she required. And for the first time in possibly a century, her hair was to be put up. Various adornments kept her hair standing upwards. The bottom of her dress actually exposed, save the multitude of belts that protected her legs and thighs from view. The final piece was a strange cactus creature she had to hold in hand; fixed in the strangest position, with a bewildering look on its face. A "cactaur" she was told it was to be called, something the character would use to channel magic out of. She had little idea what to make of such a strange costume. With her best outfitters on the job, it wasn't long before Alice was shaped up to look exactly like one "Lulu" from a "Final Fantasy X". The only blemish? The long braids falling down her back could not possibly be her own. Fake extensions, for her hair would never be that long, would have to serve. Not that anyone would really care about that.
She did, however, procure her own agenda for the evening.
Among the frivolities that were to take place, Alice desired something from her own people if at all possible. For she was not one to neglect the threats rising in southern Europe. What she needed was to know the will of her people upon the situation. Demons! Their ranks seemingly endless, their lust for conquest displayed in their recent uprisings in various regions of the world. It would only be a matter of time before they decided to take on larger, more stable regions of the world. Their first target? Nobody could say for sure, but Alice had reason to believe it would be the Vampires. They were the next formidable race; possibly the only one with strength enough to challenge their hordes. Moreover, with their birth being based loosely within Greece, expansion promised to begin northward, up into Europe - Vampire controlled Europe. Were they to stand back and allow them the first strike, with the possibility of it being against their own kind? Or were they to take the first strike for themselves, ensuring provocation of a deadly and numerous foe? This was what Alice needed to know. She would not dare act without first hearing the voice of her people - not when so many lives were at stake.
Up the cobbled walkway towards what could honestly be described as a 'haunted mansion' from the exterior walked Alice Crysis, Queen of the Vampires, closely followed by half a dozen personnel insisting to accompany her in the event of 'danger'. Each dressed in sharp, black and white suits. Each concealing more than their fair share of weaponry. Alice did not desire their presence here. Having such an obvious guard about her would only attract the attention of those that they sought to protect her from. And if there was to be any sort of fighting, she certainly wouldn't want to share the fun with anyone else! Equipped with all the weaponry she brought with her when she dressed up for eloquence, she was more than prepared to stave off some ill conceived attack on her life from some rowdy newborn, or hermit who dares to defy to rule. These were the rowdy bunch that disgraced the beautiful name of Vampire, those that sought to poison the minds of the weak willed and create further division in these times of war. Blinded by their one greed and arrogance, they would seek any opportunity to strike out at Alice from the shadows, thinking themselves superior for some reason she was never able to understand.
And she encouraged them all to do so.
Masque in hand, Alice entered the spacious mansion, into a euphoria of sound, scent and scene. The party had already more than started despite ger early arrival to the party. Guests were already mingling. The food and drink (and "drink") was about and abundant. Someone, somewhere, was playing a soft piano score that seemed to resonate from everywhere. Alice grinned. Luke seemed to have gone all out for this occasion. The manor looked pristine. Where he was, she had no idea. Surely he would come to her in time, her scent unmistakably amidst the sea of Vampires and other species frolicking through the premisses. In that moment, however, Alice's grin hardened slightly into confusion. "Other species"? Yes, there were others around. She'd not known that the guest list included more than Vampires - perhaps her escort made the slightest more sense, now. A Demon she could smell wandering about, a Human not soon after. Confusion quickly gave way to intrigue; and Alice was off. Slipping between dancing guests, through conversations, Alice followed her nose towards the scent of the most interesting guest - the Human. Her duties would take a backseat to a few moments of self indulgence.
He was about as difficult to track find as her left hand. She had only to close her eyes and allow her feet to take command from her nostrils. Alice came up behind him bearing a cunning grin, her drumming against her hips in silent amusement. "My, aren't we a bold one," Alice mused aloud, speaking to the back of the Human dressed in a costume of someone she did not recognize. "A Human must be quite brave to willingly enter den of Vampires. Whatever the cause, you have my intrigue, sir." Bravery was by the kindest word for stupidity. This Human was either incredibly witless, or had some sort of motive for coming to such a birth of Vampires. Intrigue demanded she know which it was. However, Alice found her plans of a delicate conversation derailed by the presence of the other Supernatural - a Demon - seemingly just as interested in the Human was she was. The urge to pin the vile creature to the wall and interrogate it right then and there bubbled to the surface of her mind, suppressed by absolutely nothing. Silver eyes flickered from the Human towards the Demon. His costume was not one she recognized either, but it did bear resemblances to that of the Humans. Were they together? Was he a thrall?
"Come, talk with me Human - tell me how it was you came upon our humble get-together this evening. Do you dance?" she slyly, cocking her eyebrow suggestively and holding out her free hand. The music wafting through-out the rooms implied a slow, intimate dance that would allow for an all but silent ear-to-mouth conversation as they danced. A delicate game of cat and mouse had just been issued; the reactions of the Demon, as well as the Human, would tell her everything she needed to know about their relationship, if any, in addition to just how well informed this Human was - any Human who knew his Vampires (implying he had a reason to be here, rather than being dim-witted) would recognize Alice despite her get-up, and of course, reconsider refuting her polite gesture of a dance. It was in this moment that the Queen of the Vampires took note of most eyes being upon her, or the Human to which she addressed. The aura of power Alice commanded with her mere presence was usually enough to turn the occasional head, but this was more. Envy had taken the room by storm; many of the men (and the occasional woman...) within the room waiting years simply to be addressed by Alice, forget something as intimate as dancing.
And odd as it may seem, she had little intention of causing the man harm. For now. WORDS:1567 - NOTES:west is popular - OUTFIT:FFX lulu |

"she will be in good hands tonight. this is a party not a war zone. as much as I love a good brawl, I will not allow you to enter my home. stay outside if you must but your entry is forbidden here." the vampire grinned again showing pointed canines. he honestly wanted one of them to say something, but they knew better than to tempt him. giving small nods, they backed off and the male returned to the party.
. dancing his way through the group, the male headed up the stairs. once he got to the second floor he sat on the railing looking over the entire party. "welcome party goers! ready for a fun night! I'm happy to see you all made it to my wonderful party. let's not tell my brother okay? he's not the partying kind of guy." the vampire laughed leaning forward a bit. they probably thought he was going to fall off but he was perfectly in control of his body. "for those of you who do not know, I am dimitri's younger brother luke. I will be your host tonight. we have everything from bobbing for apples to a haunted maze. "I also noticed there are many different races here tonight. this is a fighting free zone and we will keep it that way. or I will personally see you out of here." the last little bit was a threat to everyone in the room including her highness. he was not opposed to roughing up royalty if he had too. "So let's party it up!"

"alice my dear, why not let the guests mingle with one another before you scare the poor human boy off. no one is here to plot against you. they are just here for fun." his words were soft and soothing as he appeared next to her. giving her a small bow, he also kissed her hand. the male was trying to be nice and put the queen at ease, but that was never an easy task. he gave the demon a small wave letting him known that the vampire had seen him. dimitri had mentioned something about this particular demon being harmless, but he wasn't too sure about it. as for the other human, he seemed to be different then most but luke couldn't quite put his finger on it.

"Are you following me?" West spun around as he heard the familiar voice and felt the familiar playful bump against his back. His face lit up involuntarily as he saw Credo there. It was nice to see someone he knew, especially here, at the mansion of a vampire lord, surrounded by people who probably wanted him dead. It gave him some protection -- but, much more importantly, it gave him someone to talk to. And if West was going to be honest, there weren't many people that he would want to be there more than Credo. Against all odds, being around the demon made him feel safe.
"What," he said, clapping the demon on the shoulder, "me, follow you? I think it's the other way 'round. I'm a busy man! People to see, things to do, coffee shops to blow up, strangers to snog... The usual life." He looked Credo up and down, inspecting the costume. "D'you know, if I didn't know better, I'd say you stole my theme. Red, then? Eh, as long as you don't dye your hair green, I don't mind." Another familiar face caught his eye and West turned to the newcomer. "Ken! Oh, lovely to see you. How's life treating you?" As he spoke, he moved into the mansion.
There was some address by Dimitri; West was paying minimal attention. Instead, he was staring at all the people around him. There were masks and costumes of the highest quality here, and his own outfit seemed silly by comparison. When it was done, he threw and arm around Credo's shoulders playfully. "Let's get food, Mr. Sushi," he said brightly, adding a small nod of the head to Ken to signify that he could come, too. "And for once, you're not paying! As he moved, though, there was another voice from behind him. "My, aren't we a bold one. A Human must be quite brave to willingly enter den of Vampires."
Let it never be known that I forgot my manners, West thought cheerfully, turned, and executed a flourishing bow to the woman that stood there. "I find vampires rather nice, m'Lady," he said. "As I do demons and all other races. Granted, most of them take more issue with me than I with them, but there are some, ah, exceptions." He flashed a tiny smirking glance at where Credo stood. "I think of it more as a... house of a friend. How long ago was it we met Lord Addington? I have a terrible time with dates." This last bit again was directed at the demon along with a small, cheeky grin. "I mean, why eat dates when you can have lemons instead?" A small part of him wondered if anyone would get the play on words or whether they'd just stare at him like he was crazy.
She certainly was beautiful, and certainly wasn't human. She was obviously rich and influential -- most of the people here were, which made it all the stranger that West had been invited -- hence the reason why he had addressed her by 'my Lady' instead of the usual 'Hello, good looking!' pick-up line. The costume she had one was intricate and complex, but West couldn't help but feel that his and Credo's outfits fit their characters more. Even at Halloween, it was hard to pretend you are someone that you are not.
"Come, talk with me Human - tell me how it was you came upon our humble get-together this evening. Do you dance?" West shot Credo another quick glance, his expression somewhere in between asking for permission and daring Credo to oppose the idea, then reached out and took the lady's hand gracefully. He still had no clue who she was, but something told him that it would end badly for him if he displeased her. Not that West had ever really concerned himself about what others might think; he just kind of wanted to see the look on Credo's face if he went to dance with a vampire. He was having just as hard of a time as the woman was in putting a name to the nature of their relationship. The human liked clarity in things like that and here, there was little clarity.
He hadn't seen the woman coming, but Dimitri was hard to miss as he made his way over. "Alice my dear," he said, "why not let the guests mingle with one another before you scare the poor human boy off? No one is here to plot against you. They are just here for fun."
"Her company is most welcome, m'Lord Addington," the human said smoothly. "Thanks for the invitation, by the way." He held out his gift with his free hand. "I got that for you. Host gift and all that." That said, West shut his mouth, suddenly conscious of the fact that he was talking quite a lot and not really letting other people have a say.

It made Credo even more excited that someone he knew was also invited to this sudden party. Especially if that someone was West of all people. It made even more happy that West recognized what Credo came as. They had matching themes after all.
Another guest seemed to have arrived after them. West addressed as Ken. Credo looked behind him to see that it was the stranger they had met in France that one time. A slight frown and a glare began to form on his face. But Credo fought it back, keeping his face as neutral as possible. However he still made it know his impression didn't change by standing close to West still. "Let's get food, Mr. Sushi," West said, overriding Credo's 'protect' instinct.
"My, aren't we a bold one," , a woman spoke, "A Human must be quite brave to willingly enter den of Vampires. Whatever the cause, you have my intrigue, sir." she said elegantly. The woman was obviously a vampire. Credo's natural enemy. And by the way she carried herself and dressed, Credo could tell she was of some importance to society. West's response made Credo glance at him, his expression probably unreadable. He didn't catch the joke there at first. But he chuckled a few moments later after he did.
But before he knew it, the woman had whisked West away into a casual dance. At first Credo was confused, and he stood there rather awkwardly before turning and helping himself to some punch and a snack. He was rather irritated at this point. Not that he could dance with West anyway. Two men ballroom dancing in the middle of the floor would be rather awkward in itself. Credo didn't know how to ballroom dance, or do any kind of dance at that. He'd seen other people do it, and if he winged it probably would have a decent chance at actually looking like he knew what he was doing when he really didn't. Dancing just wasn't his thing though. One would think after Credo worked for months alongside Nina, a dancer, in a club full of dancing for hours on end that Credo would pick up a few moves himself. Alas, he was just in charge of making sure everything went smooth. Sometimes Nina gave him the chance to kick idiots out the back door. Literally. Fun times those were.
It wasn't long before a man addressed the crowd from the railing atop the stairs. He bared a slight resemblance to Dimitri. This must be his brother, Credo thought. West remarked he had brought a gift, making Credo feel rather rude for not bring one himself. But perhaps Luke didn't care all that much for gifts and just preferred to be the life of the party.
