"very well if you are interested follow me. I'll lead you to my home in italy." he flashed the two men a grin showing his canines. it wasn't like he really meant too but sometimes it just happened. shaking out his hair a bit, the vampire led the way down the road to a small complex. opening the gate he stepped inside and walked up the short sidewalk.
. the building was small and narrow but on the inside it looked much bigger. much bigger. a maid greeted him with a curtsey and he waved her off. "please put some tea on and take their coats and dry them. also have a fire brought up in the study." the lord smiled sweetly to the maid and she smiled back and nodded before disappearing to do his tasks. "please make yourselves at home, I'll only be a few moments." dimitri flashed them a grin before heading up the stairs. he found his room with ease. quickly he slipped out of the wet clothes and decided for a pair of work out pants and a zip up sweatshirt, which he promptly left unzipped. not that he was trying to impress anyone, but he was just too lazy to zip it up. after making sure his hair was dried, the lord headed back downstairs. just as he requested, his small study had a fire roaring and a few cups of tea sitting around.
. "now you must understand what i am about to tell you can not leave this house hold. if it does I will absolutely kill both of you no questions asked. if you are interested in this information then I will tell you what I know but you cannot tell anyone. not the morrigan or anyone." his eyes narrowed and their color deepened as he carefully sip the cup of tea. his fangs clicked against the cup lightly and he swore softly. it hurt slightly but not too much. sighing he placed his cup down and lounged in the chair. running a hand through his hair he watched the two boys. "it's not a way to kill demons but it's a way to contain them." the words were soft but there. he would be careful about what he said until he knew they wouldn't say anything. perhaps they could both be involved, if they didn't then he would kick them out of his house and never talk to them again.

As Dimtri made some cliché comment -- 'if you are interested, follow me to the dark castle' kind of thing -- West cracked a smile. There really was no need for even saying 'interested' any more, since both he and the demon had more or less asserted their acceptance of the proposal by walking out into the rain after the vampire lord. However, he understood the showy element behind it. There had been so many times when he himself had chosen the dramatic over the practical.
Walking a few paces behind the vampire lord as they made their way towards Dimtri’s mansion, West let his mind wander, not needing to say anything because his thoughts were racing. What were the chances that something like this would happen? he wondered. Statistically, it was probably nearly impossible. Still, the human’s ego kept pointing out that it was a sign that he was just that special. Things kept happening to him with such frequency that it wasn't just coincidence. True, cause and effect was probably a better explanation, but he liked to think that he was important.
Sooner than he realized, they were at Dimitri's home. Passing them off to servants, the vampire lord hurried off somewhere, presumably to change clothes. West was too fascinated by the grandeur of the place to object when a staff member took his coat, then ushered him to the study. Making a face as soon as the servants were out of the room, the human leaned over to Credo. "Dear God," he said quietly, "I can't afford dinner, and he has... this?"
Coming back in to the room, the vampire sat down and got right to business. This made West smile a little; he liked it when people didn't beat around the bush. "now you must understand what i am about to tell you can not leave this house hold. if it does I will absolutely kill both of you no questions asked...."
He rolled his eyes. It wasn't meant to be rude -- he was just a little indignant that Dimtri had felt that he had to go through the whole 'tell anyone and I'll kill you' routine with them. True, the vampire was being more than a little stupid by revealing this information in front of a demon. West smiled, and leaned back in his chair.
"Why, of course not. Not like I'll be running straight to Her Majesty's court after this -- not little old wanted-dead-by-everyone me. Besides." He drew the last two syllables out nonchalantly. "I value my own neck too much. It's demon you should worry 'bout. No offense, though, buddy boy." Winking at the demon, he turned his attention back to Dimitri.
As his host hinted at what the method might be -- a kind of containment? -- West studied Credo's reactions. He knew if he was sitting in someone's home listening to ways to kill humans, he wouldn't take it so lightly. In fact, he would never be in that situation because he would avoid all people who would even vaguely consider discussing that. So it was interesting for him to see someone else's reaction to hearing someone talking about how to overthrow your race.
"And what if there is something like that?" West asked. "I don't see much use in talking theoretically, M'lord, so just tell us more specifically what it is, if that's what you intend to do." Again, he hated when people beat around the bush, mostly because he rarely did himself. If Dimitri had any intentions of actually letting his guests know what this 'containment' possibility was, then West wished he'd just up and do it. "The suspense is killing me, really it is." That one he couldn't resist.

Credo followed behind, keeping the pace with the others. The demon ignored the rain as drizzled down on him in a gentle shower. His curiosity was eating away at him. The vampire lord smiled and revealed sharp daggers behind closed lips. "Very well if you are interested, follow me. I'll lead you to my home in Italy.", he said before continuing on the path to said home.
Finally arriving at the mansion, Credo studied it carefully. He'd never seen one as nice as this one although he had gone through his fair share of big, fancy houses, whisking away expensive items and selling them for tons of cash. Dimitri walked West and Credo inside and soon tossed them off to the help whom hospitably took their coats and let them to the study. Credo plopped down in a seat and took a few glances about. West leaned over, "Dear God," he said quietly, "I can't afford dinner, and he has... this?" Credo rested his cheek on his hand, elbow on the arm of the chair. "Even I dont make enough to get by this well, dude. He's probably got 5 more of these somewhere else." Credo said sarcastically.
Before long, Dimitri had seated himself across from them and began to speak. "Now you must understand what i am about to tell you can not leave this household. If it does I will absolutely kill both of you no questions asked. If you are interested in this information then I will tell you what I know but you cannot tell anyone. Not The Morrigan or anyone." Of course he would threaten to kill them. This must be one hell of a secret if he'd be willing to go that far. Of course Credo wouldn't utter a word to anyone unless there was something grand and guaranteed for him in it. But that was far less likely to happen. "I value my own neck too much. It's demon you should worry 'bout. No offense, though, buddy boy.", said West. Credo rolled his eyes and tossed the comment to the side, a sigh escaping his lips promptly after.
He continued, "it's not a way to kill demons but it's a way to contain them."
One question dawned on Credo the moment he said "contain them". Why the Hell was he still here. Curiosity couldn't have been the only reason he followed Dimitri. He had absolutely no interest in putting himself on either side of this war. And most importantly, he didn't enjoy watching his kind slaughter others and take land like some barbaric 15th century movement. Perhaps that was the reason he was here. A way to stop the fighting instead of fueling it on. If Dimitri's method proved to be too outrageous and/or ridiculous, then Credo would just leave and go about his business. But if it could work, and stop the warring ravaging the world right now, maybe, just maybe he'd consider involving himself and put forth some effort. ALONE IN YOUR THOUGHTS HOW MANY OTHERS HAVE STOOD WHERE YOU - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - stand | [atrb=width,240] . the vampire could practically smell their anticipation. he wasn't usually one to drag things out but he wanted to be sure he could trust the demon. yes it was risky to mention something like this in front of another demon but credo seemed harmless enough. besides it wasn't like what he knew would kill demons. it was just a way to beat them. "fair enough. I just wanted to be sure I could trust both of you." the vampire admitted sitting up his chair a bit. when the human said the suspense was killing him, dimitri couldn't help but grin. "many people don't remember this, but humans used to be able to use magic. like the kind you hear about in stories and in movies." he picked up his cup of tea and took another sip. "many of the elders, such as myself, remember when humans had this ability. but the previous demon lord ruled over the earth a lot longer than people though he did."
. the vampire finished his tea and set it down on the table. he leaned forward hands clasped in front of him. "the first demon lord to rule over earth took over hundreds of years ago and when he came over he destroyed all the books containing the magic that humans needed. over the years, the humans forgot about the magic and their abilities faded to nothing. but one of the humans survived." he got up and walked over to the fire place and played with the mantel. "he was turned into a vampire before he was killed off. though no one knows his whereabouts, some have an idea. humans used to contain demons. by using simple magic they could bind the demons into a summoning contract." he let his words sink in for a minute and ran a hand through his hair. "this method of magic didn't hurt the demons and for a while they didn't really mind because they got things out of it as well. if the human didn't hold up their end of the bargain then they would get a mark. after three marks, they belonged to that demon."
. "I know this seems like an odd amount of information. this isn't anything I would want to use to harm demons, but it makes them much easier to contain. their madness has gone on for long enough. they make it difficult for the rest of us to have lives as well." he growled the last part a little bit as the maid wandered in a filled his cup of tea before she left again. "take this information as you will, but the reason I brought you two here is because I believe we can bring this magic back. the demons need to be contained and I am sure even a demon like yourself Credo can agree with me." dimitri cast a side long glance at the demon with a small grin. a bit of fang slipped out as he picked up his cup of tea. he decided to let the information sink in. this was quite the idea and he himself didn't know if it would work. the only man who contained the information was lost along with the remaining books. hopefully they didn't think he was too crazy.

West smiled as Credo replied to his comment, rolling his eyes melodramatically. "D'you think he's interested in charity?" he said jokingly. "Because I know a 'Keep Vigilantes from Starving' fund that would do with donations. Jiminy cricket, he's even got loads of servants. I bet he pays each of 'em more than I earn in a year with my jobs."
Dimitri said, "fair enough. I just wanted to be sure I could trust both of you." West shrugged slightly. He could understand that. However, when he promised to keep something secret, then he kept it secret, even if his life was threatened because of it. It was a simple case of 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you': if he kept other people's secrets, then he expected them to keep his -- not that West told anyone any of his secrets without already trusting them utterly. Leaning back in his seat, the human looked as nonchalant as he could, waiting with no outward anticipation for Dimitri's next few words.
As the vampire started talking about magic, though, he couldn't help himself leaning forwards in interest. "Magic?" he asked. "Seriously, magic? Like... hocus-pocus-expelliarmus-avada-kedavra magic? Ooh, I knew it, I knew it!" He wasn't being serious, but, then again, he joked about pretty much everything. Winking at the vampire lord, West continued, "Harry Potter was just too good to be based off fiction alone."
It was natural that he was skeptical, because, although it was common knowledge that there were humans who had powers like empathy or telekinesis, he got the feeling that Dimitri was talking more on the racial level. Not once had West ever heard of something like this -- though he supposed that this demon king destroying all the evidence would account for that -- even though he had encountered just about every kind of rumor during his travels.
"Bind them into a contract?" he asked slowly, looking at Credo thoughtfully. He wasn't focused so much on him in particular as on demons in general. What would it be like, he wondered, to be bound to someone like that? Naturally, West was a free spirit needed his space, so wouldn't take part in it himself -- unless there was a demon that he wanted to keep near him at all times, no matter what -- but it could help the situation greatly.
"Take this information as you will, but the reason I brought you two here is because I believe we can bring this magic back," Dimtri said. West worried his bottom lip, thinking, letting the information sink in slowly. Would I really do that? Bring back something that time erased? Everything has its time... but I could do it. I know I could. Think of me -- magical! And even if I cannot do it myself, it would be for the better for the humans... Thankfully, no one else was talking, which let him think in peace.
Finally, West gave a little chuckle, straightening in his chair. If he turned this down -- he assumed it was an offer to help -- then he would never forgive himself later. He ran about Europe, trying to save people from injustice, so it would just be hypocritical to refuse to assist in giving those same people another chance at protecting themselves. With a smile, he said, "If I can help, I will. I don't know what I could do, but I get around and I know a lot of people. Humanity needs another chance."

Finally down to business, Dimitri began to elaborate on this method of containment he spoke of. He went on to explain that humans once held magical powers, like those you would see in movies and fairy-tales of old. And that the first Demon Lord destroyed their only means of remembering it. Credo hadn't been old enough to witness any of this hocus pokus Dimitri talked about. But he hadn't been the only one to mention it to him. So perhaps it was true? And perhaps some humans still possessed the ability. Credo wondered what sort of magic they used, and how they used it. The subject interested him slightly and he wanted to hear more. Not about the method of containment, but of the magic itself. It wasn't important right now, and he'd be rude to redirect the attention on such a thing at the moment. "Seriously, magic? Like... hocus-pocus-expelliarmus-avada-kedavra magic? Ooh, I knew it, I knew it!" West said. Credo couldn't help but laugh a little at the comments West made. Although he was probably right about the Harry Potter bit.
It seemed the last human with knowledge of the old magic was turned into a vampire before he died. But the next thing Dimitri said sparked a blazing fire of concern, but also curiosity in the demons thoughts. Humans were able to use their magic to bind demons into a summoning contract. This most likely meant that the demon would become the humans servant, lack of a better word. A powerful demon, able to destroy cities alone under the control of a mere human? Credo had never fathomed such a thing. Nor did he ever think it was possible. It sounded almost too easy. Credo's lips and voice seemed to have started on their own, "So how did they go about binding a demon? The process with magic, I mean.", the demon asked. This all sounded a little far'fetched to him. But he kept his poker face going well enough for Dimitri or West not to know that.
West seemed to agree with the method, but Credo was still a little decisive about the matter. "If I can help, I will. I don't know what I could do, but I get around and I know a lot of people. Humanity needs another chance." West said, Credo promptly went on, "As much as I agree Humanity is in the biggest shit hole ever right now, Dimitri, how are we going to use that to stop a whole army and then some? If your planning to seal all the demons fighting with the Morrigan, you'll need a human willing to help you for every demon you plan to seal. That's thousands upon thousands probably..." [/i] he went on, another question dawning on him, "Unless one human can bind multiple demons?"[/i] he added. Credo was willing to help as well, but only if this was sure-fire. If a human were to chicken out and go back on their word, of course their were repercussions to suffer. Three strikes and their out, the demon gaining full control of them. A fitting punishment for a coward, Credo thought. But who was he to talk? He did the exact same thing whether he liked to believe so or not. But here, right here was a chance to redeem himself. He hoped that this method would work out somehow. The fighting was getting to be too much. Minds were twisted, families broken apart and innocent blood was spilled for the sake of someone else's selfish desires. Credo was once one of those selfish beings. But now that he's realized the fault in fighting for such causes, he hoped that he could change it. More than anything he wanted to right the many wrongs he created in his past.
